EV battery capacity and energy testing focuses on the available capacity and energy of EV battery systems under different conditions. The main influences on the capacity and energy test results are the ambient temperature and discharge rate.

In order to achieve the above testing goals, EV battery testing equipment and high and low temperature test chamber are necessary battery testing equipment, both need to be able to connect and linkage control, so that the test is simpler and more professional.

1)Testing at different temperatures

For the ambient temperature, three different conditions are usually set: low temperature, normal temperature and high temperature. The normal temperature is 25℃, and the low temperature and high temperature will depend on the annual temperature of the area where the electric vehicle is actually used. Generally speaking, the lower the ambient temperature, the lower the battery discharge capacity.

Kindly reminder:

• In low temperature environments, EV battery systems are allowed to sit for at least 24 hours before electrical performance testing begins.
• In high-temperature environments, EV battery systems are allowed to sit for at least 16 hours before electrical performance testing begins.

2)Testing at different discharge rates

For the discharge rate, constant current discharge and constant power discharge are usually used, and the larger the rate, the smaller the discharge capacity of the system.
